Train Travel in Peru
There are very few railway lines in Peru, but there is a railway line
cutting across main tourist-visited areas:
Cuzco,
Machu Picchu, the
Sacred Valley Region, but also the
Lake Titicaca (Puno and Juliaca) are
connected.
You will find few other railway lines elsewhere.
Peru Rail is the company operates daily train services between Cuzco
and Aguas Calientes (the town from which tourists can access the
archaeological site of Machu Picchu).
It is common for tourists to get off at
Ollantaytambo while on their
way to Machu Picchu.
Peru Rail also operates trains between Puno, Juliaca and Cuzco.

Cuzco - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes
Take this route to travel to Machu Picchu either from
Cuzco or from Ollantaytambo
Departure station: Poroy (approx.
20 km from Cuzco)
Last station: Aguas Calientes
(Machu Picchu Pueblo)
Stations along the route: Poroy, Ollantaytambo, Aguas Calientes
