Getting to Arequipa

Overview: Arequipa, with its over 900.000 inhabitants, is the biggest Peruvian city in the southeast of the country. Itself a major travel attraction hotspot, Arequipa has developed infrastructure and is well connected to Lima, the Titicaca area and Chile through road, but it also maintains its own airport.

By Air: Rodríguez Ballón International Airport is the airport serving Arequipa. In mid 2010 they had flights to Cuzco, Juliaca, Lima, Tacna, Iquique, Santiago de Chile.

By Rail: Some trains connect Arequipa with Puno and Juliaca.

By Road: Many buses are available, among them most will take you to Cuzco (in about 9 hours), Puno (in about 5-6 hours), Pisco (in about 12-14 hours), Nazca (in about 9 hours), Tacna (in about 6-8 hours). Other buses are available to other Peruvian destination, but also to Chile, Bolivia.
