Getting to Colca Canyon

Overview: Famous and very beautiful canyon in the southeastern part of Peru. It is a vast area with many towns and villages in it. Spectacular views and protected wildlife and fauna make this part of Peru special. The canyon, although not as dreamlike as the Grand Canyon, it is larger than its North American brother.

By Air: To Arequipa and then by road to the Colca Canyon.

By Rail: There used to be trains to Arequipa from Cuzco and Puno, but most of them ceased operations due to low demand. Sometimes there are passenger trains, though, you should not count on this form of transportation.

By Road: The best roads to the Colca Canyon are from Arequipa. But, you can get there from Lima, Cuzco, Puno as well. The most popular way to get to the Colca Canyon is through Arequipa by road.
