Getting to Intipuncu (Intupunku)

Overview: This Inca site is called Sun Gate in English and is located close to Machu Picchu, on the Inca Trail that leads to the magical city. Most often the site will be called Intipunku, though Intipuncu is also correctly written.

GPS Coordinates:

Latitude: 13° 10' 12" S

Longitude: 72° 32' 5" W

By Air: Not possible.

By Rail: Travel with hikers by booking at an authorized travel agent, then you will be able to get off at the km 88 mark of the railway line that leads from Cuzco to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes). Otherwise you cannot get close to it by train.

By Road: By car it's not possible, exclusively by walking on the Inca Trail, for which you will have to book at an authorized agency.
