Getting to Putucusi

Overview: Clearly visible green vegetation-covered cliff near the Urubamba Valley, between Machu Picchu and the valley town of Aguas Calientes.

Latitude: 13° 9' 26" S

Longitude: 72° 32' 10" W

By Air: Sometimes helicopter flights take VIPs and those who hire these aircraft to Aguas Calientes. Otherwise, you cannot get there by air.

By Rail: Aguas Calientes is the nearest town to Putucusi Peak. You can travel to Aguas Calientes by train from Cuzco.

By Road: Near Aguas Calientes, a foot road, trail leads up to the peak. From Aguas Calientes by asking for directions and following trails, you will be able to get to the top. There are abrupt slopes, ladders to climb.
