Getting to Lake Titicaca

Overview: Large fresh water lake between Peru and Bolivia. Important travel destination for travelers who arrive to Peru and Bolivia.

GPS Coordinates: [not applicable]

By Air: It is possible to fly in to Juliaca and from there it takes about 30 minutes to drive to Lake Titicaca.

By Rail: Railway connects Juliaca and than Puno as well. Usually the only routes served are in the Cuzco direction. Arequipa was served before, but the trains were switched to exclusively cargo trains.

By Road: There are roads around Lake Titicaca. The southern ones are the best quality and lead to a main border-crossing into Bolivia.
